Hi there, my name is Breana Atwell. I have always loved teaching, inspiring, and learning from/with children.
I attended Texas A& M, where I received a B.S. in Education (P-6).
I am very excited to get to be a part of such a great team, andto work together to create the best learning for your student. I also look forward to becoming a team with families, so that we can grow your child together. I know this is going to be a great year with our school community.
Fun fact: I love to work on house projects (renovating), any arts crafts (mostly painting), and doing anything with my husband.
Hi, my name is Kim Burgan and this will be my first year at Platte River Preschool. I spent the previous 11 years in kindergarten where I fell in love with the “littles”. I absolutely love how unique each child is and their ability to absorb so much around them! I believe children thrive in an educational environment that supports their growth, mentally, emotionally, and, socially. I enjoy seeing children learn new things and the excitement that it brings. Each child has exceptional learning potential and I am very fortunate to be along side them on their journey.
I have two adult children, Cameron (23) and Grace (20) and just celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary with my husband Rob. We have two super cute Yorkypoo pups, Zoe and Abby, and just this summer we added an adorable puppy, Milo, to our Burgan crew. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy going to concerts, movies, hiking, and spending time with my family.
I’m looking forward to this upcoming school year and getting to know each child and family
My name is Brianna Darnell, I feel so blessed to be a part of the Platte River Academy Kindergarten Prep Team. I live with my boyfriend Blake and our rescue dog Blair. We love to play soccer, ski, bike, and hike in our free time (including Blair!)
Growing up, I have always loved learning! I believe that inspiring children to love learning leads to a lifetime of success. I am passionate about providing children with innovative hands-on learning that prepares them for their future educational endeavors. I believe in helping to grow the whole child and help them to learn to be positive productive people and learners. Children are competent and capable beings who are inquisitive about the world around them! I believe that teachers should act as facilitators to guide children through the questions and wonders about the world around them.
I graduated from MSU Denver with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a focus on developmental educational psychology and mathematics. In May of 2024, I will be graduating with my master's in Innovative Early Childhood Education. After, I will be pursuing my doctorate in Early Childhood Education. I am entering my 4th year of teaching and am eager to help your child learn, grow, and most importantly have fun! I can't wait to work together with you to help your child have the best school experience!
Hi I am Jill Radow and I am so excited to be on the PRA KPrep Team and for the ability to teach each child this year.
I have been in the field of Early Childhood for over 30 years. Most of my teaching experience has been in New York City, where I am originally from. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Early Childhood. I have taught ages 2.5 years through 5th Grade, with mentoring teachers along the way.
I have lived in Colorado since 2007. I have been married since 2000. My daughter will be continuing her education at the University of Denver after spending a year at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities this fall. When I am not researching fun ways for preschoolers to learn, I enjoy long walks, trying out new restaurants, going to museums and shows, and doing some binge watching on rainy days.
Hello! My name is Kim Woody and I am very excited to be joining the Platte River Academy Kindergarten Prep team. I am looking forward to a year of learning, fun and adventure.
I was born and raised in Colorado. I have been an Early Childhood Educator and Center Director for over 30 years. I live in Lone Tree with my husband, two wonderful daughters and our two sweet pups.
In my free time I love to travel to visit our daughter and her husband in California. I also love camping in our beautiful Colorado mountains and long lazy days at the beach.
Thank you in advance for trusting me with your most precious possession. I promise to treat your child the way I would want my child to be treated. I will do my best to make this an amazing year!
I am delighted to be able to be a part of Platte River Academy Kindergarten Prep as your Site Director. I look forward to sustaining a strong partnership with the families and community of Platte River Academy in order to help our youngest learners build a strong foundation that will lead them down the road to success.
I completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership with a Principal Licensure. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with an Early Childhood focus and teaching license. Throughout the last 15 years I have spent time as an Early Childhood Director, Preschool Teacher, District Instructional Coach for Early Childhood Literacy and Mathematics, and Kindergarten Teacher.
I believe in the “whole child approach” wherein all children are provided opportunities to engage in learning experiences within a supportive, safe and nurturing environment with the guidance of caring professionals.
As a leader, my goal is to inspire and motivate students and staff to live up to their fullest potential while supporting a strong partnership with our families. I hope to instill a love for learning in students and help them to care for themselves, their community and the world around them.
