    PRA elementary fosters a sense of belonging for students and families and provides an environment to grow the whole child. PRA elementary provides a caring environment and teaches character values while promoting academic achievement and growth.

    Strong Foundations

    Platte River Academy is an award winning elementary school that offers a unique learning environment where your child will be supported to become a well-rounded student. PRA knows the importance or laying a strong foundation for learning in the elementary years. By following the Core Knowledge sequence and using time-tested curriculum programs PRA teachers produce strong readers, writers and mathematicians. Science and Social Studies are taught in a spiraled fashion where topics are revisited throughout the grade levels. Students participate in a broad set of specials courses including art, music, PE, Spanish and 21st Century Skills.

    Technology

    PRA provides a shared 1 to 1 technology platform and utilizes the most current educational software on the market. Assessment and adaptive lessons supplement classroom instruction to provide an individualized learning path for each student. Students receive technology instruction in the classroom and the technology lab on a weekly basis. The school provides Google Apps for Education accounts to all students and incorporates with our learning management system, Schoology.


    Parental Involvement


    Parents play a critical role in the educational experience of PRA Elementary students. Volunteerism and participation on field trips and the annual Core Knowledge events helps parents and students connect through the grade level learning. PRA has a family feel and this is most prevalent in the elementary setting where friendships and long lasting relationships are formed.
