School Rules

Be respectful.  Be responsible. Be safe.

Safe and Orderly

High expectations and consistent practices related to discipline are important aspects of Platte River Academy. Our objective is to provide a learning environment that is safe, caring and orderly, where everyone is treated with courtesy and respect. It is essential that our teachers, staff, students, and parents all understand and adhere to a common set of practices related to behavior and discipline. We are collectively responsible for exhibiting and enforcing respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors from all members of the PRA community.

Development of the Whole Child

Our educational objectives are aimed at the development of the whole child. Students are provided the opportunity to reach their full potential intellectually, physically, and ethically. The expectations and procedures provided in this plan are intended to support this concept. In communicating exactly what our expectations are, we are proactively designing a positive learning environment for our students. Knowing what to do is half the equation…choosing to do it is the other.

Rights and Responsibilities

The foundation of this program rests on the rights and responsibilities of students, parents, and teachers. Every member of the PRA community is entitled to receive the benefits of these rights and responsibilities. All rules and expectations represented within this program revolve around our Four Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Compassion.

Our discipline supports the learning environment at PRA by using a stringent, but consistent and fair, Discipline Plan. All students will abide by the same system. If a rule is broken, consequences will be consistently applied without exception.

Each student will be held accountable for his or her actions.
