After School Activities & Classes
Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO)
Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) are optional. They are made available to your child each day after the normally scheduled school day to Extend their Learning Opportunities.
During the 2024-2025 school year, students will be able to enrich their learning through these electives offered on-site in the afternoon, from 2:30pm – 4:15pm.
In order to make these opportunities available, we enlist the help of our teachers, industry professionals, community members, and parents, to help inspire students. This will involve many adults in the enrichment of our children, not just teachers. If you have an interest in organizing and leading an ELO, please email the office .
ELOs generally have small fees associated with them depending on the length of the course and materials required ($). Please direct any questions to the specific instructor or coach of that ELO.

Instructor: Tina Susak, tsusak@prak8.org
About the Instructor: Twenty years ago my husband and I lived in chilly, damp England. Learning to knit, crochet and sew were the best ways to customize how we stayed warm! My first sewing project was a set of coasters for each of my aunts and uncles. I made over 100 coasters! The machine that I bought in GB is now my official "student machine," and because the power is different, it travels with a transformer everywhere it goes. I love the endless options working with textiles offers, and could spend hours ogling fabric.

Kenpo Karate & Kickboxing Classes (K-8)
This class will start with basic Kenpo Karate to give the student the tools they need to progress through our program. This is a ranked program where students can earn belts all the way through Jr Black Belt and 1st Degree Black Belt or higher. During the 18-week course, we will also introduce the students to our Kickboxing program to further expand on their footwork, striking and kicking. The 2 days of kickboxing will give students a taste of what to expect if they wish to continue.
If students wish to continue this program past the initial 9 weeks we will have special pricing in place at our dojo.
Those wanting to get into a TEAM based sport, can ask about our competition karate team that competes in local tournaments around the Metro Denver Area with an opportunity to earn a State Championship. There are also opportunities to travel out-of-state for tournaments.
