Academic Structure
At Platte River Classical Academy for Homeschoolers (PRACAH),coursework will be divided into five days of assignments. Two days a week, students will attend classes. Lessons on these days will focus on lecture, question/answer, and hands-on activities. Three days a week, students will complete assignments at home where parents will function as the primary educators of their students. Take time to explore our middle-school classes.
Teachers will assist and/or provide tools to assess each student and provide grades throughout the year. Our university-style structure will prepare students for their high-school experience and beyond.

Assignments and Grades
Students at this level are responsible for knowing what their assignments are. Assignments will be posted by teachers in Google Classroom. Parents should log-in using your student's account in order to see assignments and plan your at-home learning times. We recommend that students use an assignment book as well.
Teachers will provide feedback and/or grades on some assignments. This information will all be available through TeacherEase.
We ask parents to check TeacherEase regularly as you monitor your child's progress, and we encourage you to communicate with teachers if you have any questions regarding assignments or grades.
Please remember that we do not provide an official report card. As a homeschool parent, you are ultimately responsible for your student's progress including keeping grades and supplying a report card to future schools. Please ask if you have questions about this process. We are always happy to to help.
Literature
Literature is an important part of any education. The Classical model recommends reading two to four books a month! Both Humanities and Language Arts classes may assign some reading. However, if your student needs more to read, here is a list of recommended reading choices
to inspire you and your student on their literary journey.
Plagiarism
PRA Classical Academy does not tolerate plagiarism. If a student turns in a plagiarized paper, he/she will automatically receive a zero on that assignment. There will be a meeting called between the student, the parent, the teacher, and the administration to ensure that the student understands the seriousness of the offense.
