PRA PTO Leadership Team

Find your place at PRA

If you're looking to put down roots at PRA,
PTO is the place to start.

The Parent Teacher Organization is made up of parents and teachers who work together for the benefit of our school. We foster a sense of community, belonging, and involvement. We also work closely with families, organizations, and community partners to raise money to benefit the school, kids, and teachers.

Get Involved

There is no official membership to be a part of PTO. We welcome any and all parents to get involved. We invite you to join us at the monthly meetings, participate in special event planning committees and volunteer your time at various events throughout the school year. How much time you volunteer is up to you - there is no limit!

Events

PTO organizes Donuts with Dads, Muffins with Moms, Birthday Surprises, Movie Nights, Spirit Wear sales, Restaurant Night fundraisers, goodies for staff for staff/teacher appreciation week, back-to-school lunches and parent/teacher conference dinners for teachers, and the Thank-a-Teacher program.

Meetings

PTO meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the library unless noted otherwise. See school calendar for details. For more information, email pto@prak8.org

Ways to support PTO and PRA

Volunteer for PTO Link your King Soopers card to PRA

  • AFW (American Furniture Warehouse) will give 2-4% back to PRA with every furniture purchase. Just mention Platte River Academy or use online ID: PLTRVR

Sunshine Fund

Many PRA families use the Sunshine Fund to purchase school uniforms for their students. Families donate used uniforms to the program, including shirts, pants, shorts, sweaters, sweatshirts and spirit wear.

The clothing is put on display several times a year. Prices for individual items typically range from $2-$5, making this a great way to recycle clothing and purchase school uniforms at a discounted price.

  • Donate used uniform items by placing them in the bin marked "Sunshine Fund" in the vestibule (front entrance).
  • Watch for Sunshine Fund sales during back-to-school events and parent/teacher conferences.
  • All proceeds benefit PTO.
