Per the PRA Handbook, the following relates to Weather Delays and Closures:
In the event of inclement weather, the start of school may be delayed. Platte River Academy honors the decisions made by the Douglas County School District as our families come from all areas throughout the district. The delay is 90 minutes, meaning that PRA will start at 9:40 a.m. for middle school (7th-8th) instead of 8:10 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. for K-6th grade instead of 8:15 a.m. School doors will open at 9:25 a.m. when there is a delayed start. Middle school students must report to their homeroom by 9:40 a.m. and Elementary students should be in their homeroom by 9:45 a.m. PRA will send out an announcement regarding delays or cancellations via the Apptegy App. Both DCSD and PRA will also post this announcement on the home page of their websites.
Once a DCSD announcement has been released we will send out PRA App notifications, emails and post on our website what PRA programs will do. Please look for these communications and follow the PRA specific plan rather than relying on the local news or DCSD website.
